On Monday, November 2, I weighed 241 pounds. I maintained a high protein diet throughout the week. No strength training or any exercise beyond walking.
Excuse of the week: transportation problems. This problem has eclipsed all else. I own a Nissan Sentra that is worth maybe $4K. I blew a head gasket but I also have problems with the O2 sensor and get this, the swirl valve.
It has been difficult to perform a cost/benefit analysis for repair. The first quote I got was $1250 but I was warned that it could be more. I got a second opinion from the Nissan dealer and he was better at explaining things. Yes, there would be overlap time in repairing the head gasket, swirl valve and O2 sensor. Good news. But there could be engine damage as a result of the blown head gasket. Bad news. Even worse news is that they would not be able to determine if damage had occurred until they were several hours into the disassembly (at $94/hr.) Even if it was determined that the Sentra was a goner, I would still be billed for re-assembley time. So I could spit out a grand just to be told that it would cost me 3 grand to repair.
Of course, I have spent most of my free time on this subject and that means no gym time. I hope that this will change when I log next week's weigh-in.
