Weighs 242 Lb.

No diet in particular. Trying to avoid gluttony and extreme calories. I will formulate a new strategy in July following my colonoscopy.

Weighs 240 lb.

Still recovering from recent illness. I would take ten gangrenous gall bladders to one obstructed bowel.

Weighs 239 Lb.

I had a bowel obstruction that lasted six days. It was the most physically agonizing experience of my life. It was brought on by too little food (HCG diet) coupled with too little water AND too many whole sunflower seeds. I thought I could continue munching whole sunflower seeds as I did when I was on a normal diet. Sunflower seeds became a much larger portion of my diet and I caused my bowel to get obstructed.

Day three post recovery and I still have symptoms and my appetite has not fully returned. Which is OK because the silver lining to this story is that I got my weight under 240 once more.

245 Lb.

Day 3 of HCG. I am taking the drops without dieting. I will go low cal soon but right now I have too much fatty food in my fridge that I am not throwing out.

HCG does seem to reduce appetite. No urge to snack all day and that is unusual for me.

252 Lb.

In 38 days I put on 18 lb.

I submit that I was not gluttonous, at least by my standards. There was my birthday, a trip to New York and good Italian cuisine and there was Easter and post-Easter and so on. The plan was to go high protein for a while but I kept getting thrown off course by well-meaning people who happen to be good cooks and who happen to patronize good bakers and who purchase precious potent potables.

I purchased HCG drops at Rite-Aid. In previous posts I referred to HCG as substance X because it is still controversial. The Feds sent Kevin Trudeau to jail for advocating its usage, so I was surprised to see it on the shelves of a retail grocery store. The FDA does not usually harass individuals but if they know people are claiming benefit from a supplement, they are more likely to try to ban it. Ironic perhaps. If people like it and report beneficial properties, the Feds are more likely to pull it from the shelves. It's the world we live in.

I still have a lot of fatty foods in the fridge but I started the HCG drops today. Plan to use HCG b.i.d @ noon and midnight. Hope to get on a 500-1000 calorie/day diet this weekend.

235 lb

I have never really kick started the high protein diet since last post. That was the plan.

It is so easy to get thrown off with high protein. It started when I was coming down with a cold and started woofing down Cold-Eaze. They make sugarless cough drops but I have not seen sugarless Cold-Eaze.

The Cold-Eaze seemed to ease my oncoming cold, BTW.

As mentioned before, high protein diets are different from other diets. You have to stay on the diet for several days if not several weeks in order to lose weight. Get a little bit off-diet and it can take at least two or three days until ketosis starts anew. Every few days there has been a carb interruption. No weight loss.

I am grateful that I could sustain my weight, however. No ballooning this time.

Stay tuned.
