 I spilled my coffee today. I had a cup or so in the AM and then the large container that I take to work fell out of my hands in the parking lot. For such disasters, I carry caffeine pills with me.

Water throughout the day.

@ 5:30 PM : 

1 glazed doughnut (296 calories)

Around 6;10 PM: 

1 glazed doughnut (296 calories)

1 jelly-filled doughnut (290 calories0

3 cookies, two raisin, cookies  and one M&M cookie. 180 calories each (540 calories.)

Note about stomach trouble and the problems that occur from eating too much healthful food

Around 10:00 PM:

Approximately 1 lb,. leftover ground beef and rice. There was more ground beef than rice and I estimate the total caloric content (1163 calories estimate.)

Frozen beef taco burrito (330 calories)

Four Reeses Cups (440 calories)

Estimated calories for the day: 2691

Note: my stomach felt better at the end of the day, being that I once again consumed normal food.

8 oz. raw, organic sauerkraut (32 calories.)

2 tablespoons shredded coconut (100 calories.)

1 tablespoon cinnamon (18 calories estimate) 

1 tablespoon cocoa (12 calories estimate.) 

7 oz. Honeycrisp apple (170 calories estimate.)

1 tangerine (47 calories.)

I went far off diet today. 

Life intervened.

I will skip on the details but a family member is in bad health and we are not satisfied with his care. So after putting in a ten-hour workday, I drove home to my wife and we spent two and a half hours writing, revising, editing, perusing, revising, and emailing our desperate proposal. Today, I fax our pleas to the appropriate parties.

I drank black coffee and seltzer water throughout the day.

@11:50 PM I ate heartily.I devoured some leftovers--a piece of steak and some potatoes. I then completed my dinner with a hungry man portion of a simple dish of rice and ground beef my wife had prepared.

Since I was off-diet, I consumed 3 oz. of gin and I ate about a generous serving of mixed chocolate candy for dessert. 

I estimate that I consumed somewhere close to 2000 calories. 

This is being written Tuesday morning and I already weighed myself; Drum roll please....despite my splurge, I lost another pound. that's right, I went from 223 yesterday to 222 today.

What a diet!
